Beaches
Obviously a visit to York means exploring one of our three beautiful beaches: Harbor beach, Short Sands and Long Sands. Restrooms and metered parking are available, free parking is limited. Lifeguards are on duty seasonally from June until Labor Day.
Depending on your desire, each beach has something different to offer. Enjoy the quieter Harbor Beach for it’s mild surf and scenic views. Long Sands is the largest of the sandy beaches and offers an area to surf for the adventurous. Short Sands has gently waves and is the closest to shops, dining and other entertainment.
Calling all dog lovers! Bring your dog to the beach year round. Dogs must be on a leash between May 20 and September 20 between the hours of 6 p.m. and sunrise. Between May 20 and September 20 dogs will be allowed to be unleashed between sunrise and 8 a.m. All other days, dogs are welcomed on the beaches with limited restrictions.

From the South
Take I-95 to Maine exit 7, York. Turn right at the traffic light onto Rte. 1 South, and then left at the next light onto Rte. 1A North. Continue on Rte. 1A through York Village to Long Sands Beach.
